Archery Structure

The club is affiliated to the sport's national governing body in the UK - Archery GB (previously known as the Grand National Archery Society or GNAS). They publish the Rules of Shooting that control our sport. They also publish a quarterly magazine, Archery UK, which is sent free to all members. In addition they arrange National Championships and provide our public liability insurance.

Within Archery GB, we are part of the regional East Midlands Archery Society - EMAS and the Leicestershire and Rutland County Archery Association - L&RCAA

World Archery (previously known as FITA) is the international governing body for Archery, responsible for the World Archery Championships, as well as the sport at Olympic and Paralympic level. Archery UK is a member association of World Archery.

Archery Suppliers

There are many archery suppliers in the UK, most of whom offer a mail order service. When getting started in archery it is advisable to visit an archery shop where you can get advice and ensure that your purchases will be suitable for you.

Both have good reputations and are used by members of the club. Which one to use is usually down to personal preference and how close they are to where you live.
